You can do yoga at any time of the day. Morning, noon, or night! You can do it anywhere. You don't even need any supplies unless your trying to get very flexible (which is always fun). Most television services offer channels or ON DEMAND shows that teach you how to do specific poses.
Plus, it's an easy way to unwind after a long day.
The benefits of yoga include flexibility, lengthening of the body, strengthening of the muscles, and being able to calm yourself. But is there really anyway to loose weight in yoga, or are you just distributing your weight to the longer and leaner you?
Well, to be honest, "yoga" itself normally does not raise your heart rate enough to lose weight. BUT there are types of yoga that you can do for around 90 minutes three times a week to lose weight, but most people just choose to go with doing other things along with yoga to reach their weight lost goals.

I actually don't like shopping as much as most girls my age. Surprising huh?
Honestly, you can lose weight from shopping. All that walking around continuously (and sometimes aimlessly) can really burn off some calories. Around 245/an hour depending on how large the mall is and how much back and forth you do. Plus, you get a great self-esteem boost while you're in the dressing room when you know you just burnt off your breakfast.
Just make sure to stay away from the food court! You never know how many calories are in that Teriyaki Chicken!

It's fun and simple. Just close your door, turn on the radio, and dance! You don't need to have an previous experience or training. You don't even really need to know what you're doing!
Listen to the beat and just move! Depending on the type of dance you choose to do and how much you weigh, you could burn anywhere from 250-678 calories/an hour. For something that people do on a regular basis, it really tones your body and burns a large amount of calories.
I do it a lot with friends or by myself or even when I'm folding laundry. This is something you can do really anywhere. I've even done it walking around a grocery store with a song stuck in my head. (I totally suggest dancing as you shop the next time. You looks you get are so funny!)

Number 1- Synchronized Swimming
My Absolute New Obsession In Weight Loss!
If you've read my other article "Synchronized Swimming- Recreational And Competitive" you should know already that I have an unhealthy obsession with this sport. :) It's fun, tiring, a great workout, and if you're a person who loves being underwater, you should seriously consider this mega-sport.
Imagine taking dancing, gymnastics, running, and show choir and shoving into one box and labeling it as "Super-Sport That Requires Ridiculous Amounts Of Athleticism!"
That super-sport is synchronized swimming. (Known as Synchro by it's insiders)
You must be able to feel music and dance; have amazing back, leg, and shoulder flexibility; be able to hold your breath for over 2:30 minutes still; and smile and make it look effortless all the time. It's an amazing way to lose weight. A friend of mine joined a team a year or two ago and literally went from a size 10-11 to a size 4-5 almost immediately. After three years of the sport she's now a size 2, it's getting too big, and she's losing weight all the time. Of course, that's team training, but just going to a local pool and trying to do what they do will burn around 403-803 calories/an hour depending on your weight and how fast you move or practice.
It's something I personally love to do. And trust me, it's a lot more fun than it sounds.
