Most of the time just knowing that we should lose weight isn't really the motivation we need to take action.
Motivation for weight loss really needs to be an emotional one if you are going to have any chance of sticking with it and seeing results.

- Find a dress you once looked great in and want to fit back into, and hang it where you see it each time you look into your closet
- Find an old photo of yourself when you were at your happiest and stick it on the fridge door
- Write down your weight loss goals and show it to someone close to you, then put it on the fridge door
If your goal is to lose weight for an up coming event like a wedding or a school or family reunion, this in it self can be an emotional reason to want to lose weight.
Stick the invitation on your fridge and set out a plan on how you intend to reach your weight loss goal before the special event.
