1. Stop counting calories! Yes, you heard me right. Counting calories is a sure way for you to stress yourself out and give up on your diet. Instead of focusing on the number of calories you are eating, you should focus on the quality of calories you are eating. The highest quality foods will help you to lose weight fast and feel better as well, because they are packed full of beneficial vitamins and minerals. Some of the highest quality calories you can feed your body are found in the forms of leafy green vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds.

2. Decrease the time-frame in which you eat those calories. One common misconception is the idea that eating breakfast is beneficial. Although a healthy breakfast of fruits and vegetables won't hurt you, your body actually will benefit greatly from skipping breakfast. Instead, drink lots of water all morning. This will allow your body to focus on cleansing and detoxifying itself, as well as burning that excess fat you've been dying to get rid of. By decreasing the amount of time that you spend eating solid food, you are increasing the time your body has to burn fat and repair any damaged cells. This means more energy, because your body won't be spending so much energy on digestion. It also means faster recovery times from your workouts. There are countless benefits of this practice, commonly referred to as "intermittent fasting." I suggest you give it a try, especially if you are trying to lose weight quickly.

3. Stop running so much! Another common misconception is that running is the best exercise to lose weight. Studies have actually shown that walking produces equal, if not greater benefits than running. Studies also show that weight-training is far more effective than running for burning fat and losing weight. This is because weight-training increases overall muscle mass, which in turn increases your resting metabolic rate. This is the amount of calories you burn while at rest. So, weight training a few days a week means that you will be able to burn more calories by simply sitting on the couch doing nothing at all! What more could you ask for?

4. Begin Juicing or Blending for maximum health benefits. Juicing fresh fruits and vegetables is by far one of the most beneficial things you can do for your health and weight loss efforts. Juicing is fun and easy and you can experiment with hundreds of different food combinations. If you don't have a juicer, a blender can work just as well for making green smoothies, which is basically juice with the fiber still in it. This fiber is extremely beneficial as well. Simply throw some fruit and greens, whatever amount you prefer, in the blender and drink up! If you use about 90% fruit and 10% greens, or even 80/20, you won't even taste the greens! It's like a fruit smoothie, but even healthier! The best greens to use are kale or spinach. Try it out and experience a whole new level of health!
